The Parks and Recreation Department is located at 1 Daley Field Road
The Parks, Recreation, and Cemeteries Department is committed to enhancing the quality of life for all Easthampton residents by striving to provide clean and safe park facilities and the best recreational programming for everyone within our community.
We are a service based department and work interactively with local and regional groups and associations to assist in both active and passive recreational activities and programs for individuals, groups, and organized sports teams.
Tree Warden
The City Tree Warden, George Melega, is an employee of our department and is available to assist citizens regarding questions concerning trees within Easthampton. Pruning, removal, and legal issues may be addressed by contacting him during weekday business hours.
About Nonotuck Park
Nonotuck Park is a 260 acre park located off Williston and Lownds Avenue on Daley Field Road in Easthampton. The park is used for many types of recreation The Park is open from March until the end of October and operates daily from 8 a.m. until dark. The main gate on Lownds Avenue is closed at 2:30 p.m. during winter hours.
Facilities at Nonotuck Park include:

• seven youth softball diamonds (60’)
• one adult softball diamond (65’)

• 15 acre soccer complex

• fishing at Nashawannuck Pond
• Tote man Nature Trail
• bicycle paths
• three bocce courts
• horseshoe areas
Nonotuck Park is also home to a summer day camp for children aged 6-13, swimming lesson programs, local baseball, softball, and soccer team games and tournaments. The Toteman Nature Trail winds around the perimeter of the park for enjoyment of nature, bird watching, and relaxation.
Other Facts about Nonotuck Park
• The Park does not allow horses on the property, but dogs on leashes are permitted.
• Softball fields are used by leagues during the week, but may be available for park patron’s use on the weekends when no games are scheduled.
• Park Security Officers are available during park hours for assistance or to answer any patron’s questions. Emergency first aid treatment available at the swimming pool during pool hours of Noon to 7 p.m.
• Telephones are located at the pool and the refreshment booths.
• Fishing licenses are required by the state of Massachusetts to fish at the park's Nashawannuck Pond. Licenses may be purchased at the clerk's Office in City Hall, 50 Payson Avenue.
Vehicle Passes
Season vehicle passes for Nonotuck Park are sold between March and October at the Parks and Recreation Department office located on Daley Field weekdays from 8 AM - 4 PM or purchased at the entrance booth on weekends and holidays. No entrance fee or pass needed for weekdays, but is needed for weekends and holidays. Seasons passes stickers are attached on the front, lower driver side windshield. It is recommended that the Park users purchase their passes early in the season to avoid delays at the entrance on busy days. Vehicles with handicapped plates are not charged a fee. Day vehicle passes are purchased at the park's entrance booth from 8 AM to dusk.
Pool Information
The community pool opens in late June and remains open to Labor Day. There are certified lifeguards on duty during the pool operating hours, Noon until 7 PM seven days a week weather permitting. 413-527-0503
Swim Lessons
Swimming lessons are held twice during the summer months and three times during the winter months at an indoor location. Sessions are taught by Valley Swim School. The program consists of 6 lessons, 30 minutes in length. Ages 5 and up in beginner, intermediate, or advanced classifications. Class sizes are limited.
Water Spray Park
The Water Spray Parks opens in late June and remains open until late September, Noon until 6 PM seven days a week at no charge.
Picnic Sites
There are thirty-three picnic sites that are available weekdays for no charge. However, there is a charge for weekends and holidays. Each site sports two picnic tables and a cooking grill and sites may be booked prior to or the day of the picnic at the recreation office or by calling 529-1440 M-F or at the park entrance booth on the day of picnic.
Pavilions
Pavilions are rented per day for either weekday or weekend use. Reservations are required and bookings begin first week of March. Pavilions rent quickly on weekends, so early booking is recommended.
Pavilion #1 has a fireplace with two barbecues and two cooking grills and seats approximately 150 people.
Pavilion #2 contains a six foot long covered barbecue with a cooking grill and seats approximately 200 people.
Pavilion #3 has two six foot long barbecues with cooking grills and seats approximately 300 people.
Pavilion #4 contains a six foot long covered barbecue with a cooking grill and seats approximately 75 people.
All pavilions are supplied with electricity and water and rest rooms are within walking distance.
Camp Nonotuck Summer Day Camp Information
Camp Nonotuck offers a wide variety of structured activities for children. Activities include but are not limited to, Olympic size outdoor swimming pool, water spray park, sports, weekly field trips, special events, special guests, games, carnivals, Mt. biking, nature trails, tournaments, arts and crafts, and theme weeks.

Camp includes daily swimming or water spray park,
arts and crafts, sports and others.
As mandated by law, all campers MUST have the following records in place prior to any camp placement.

Camp Nonotuck is run under the auspices of the Department of Public Health 105 CMR 430.00 (1-617-983-6761), City of Easthampton, and is licensed annually by the local board of health. Copies of state regulations, back ground checks, health care; discipline policy and grievance procedures are available upon request.

Take exit 17 B off Route 91 (north).
Follow Route 141 West into Easthampton.
In business district, take left at 1st traffic light. (Williston Ave.).
Nashawannuck Pond will be on your left.
Follow Williston Ave. (past high school) to end – road bears to right.
Nonotuck Park is first left.
From West – (Westfield)
Take Route 10 into Easthampton Center.
At 1st traffic light, bear right; this is Route 141 east towards Holyoke.
At 2nd traffic light, take Williston Ave. (adjacent to Nashawannuck Pond).
Follow Williston Ave. (past high school) to end – road bears to right.
Nonotuck Park is first left.
From North (Greenfield)
Take exit 18 off Route 91 (south).
At exit, bear left towards Northampton.
At first intersection, (bowing alley + Days Inn motel on left), bear left onto Conz St.
Follow Conz Street to 1st traffic light.
Take left and go up hill, taking a left at next traffic light onto route 10 towards Easthampton.
You will go straight through first set of lights to end (rotary and gazebo in front on you).
Go straight to next set of lights, bear left (Route 141 East, towards Holyoke).
At 2nd traffic light, take Williston Ave. (adjacent to Nashawannuck Pond).
Follow Williston Ave. (past high school) to end – road bears to right.
Nonotuck Park is first left.
Additional City Parks
Millside Park
Located at 2 Ferry Street along the Manhan Rail Bike Path, the Millside Park is designed for passive recreation as well an entertainment complex with an Acoustical Band Shell that host “The Arts in the Park” Concert series Friday evenings during the summer months. The park has great water views with picnic tables, seasonal restrooms, a basketball court, outdoor exercise equipment and Manhan Rail Bike Path access. This facility is open to the public; however rental opportunities are available by contacting the Parks and Recreation office.
Katherine Root Wayside Park
Located at the corner of Route 10 and Florence Road, the Katherine Root Wayside Park is dedicated to passive recreation. It's a nice area with 3 picnic tables and grills to enjoy a picnic. It also provides a spigot attached to the town water supply for passersby.
Pulaski Park
Pulaski Park is a passive recreation area located in the center of Easthampton, at the rotary where Northampton Street, Main Street, and Pleasant Street merge. The park hosts many activities in its Gazebo: pumpkin carving in October, beautiful holiday lighting in December graces the park, and many wedding ceremonies are also held within the Gazebo throughout the year.
Pulaski Park contains the Kasimer Pulaski Monument, dedicated to the Polish war general, and a monument depicting the first town meeting house in Easthampton, as well as the Mayher Drinking Fountain.
Parsons Street Park
Parsons Street Park is a neighborhood park with a toddlers playground with baby swings and park benches. It's located at the corner of Parsons and Exeter Streets.
Pleasant Street Park
Pleasant Street Park is located on Pleasant Street and Pleasant Green, it is a children's neighborhood playground. The equipment at the park includes a play structure and benches as well.
Plain and Strong Street Playground
Plain and Strong Street Playground consists several playground structures and swings.

Open Basketball for Men
Sunday's at White Brook Middle School from 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Daily fee.
Thursday at Pepin School from 6-9 p.m. Daily Fee.
Indoor Public Ice Skating
Sunday's at Williston-Northampton School’s Lassone Rink from 3-5 p.m.
Must bring own skates. Daily fee.
Rag Shag Parade
In October, there is a costume parade for children and adults that march safely through the streets of Easthampton to the Williston Quadrangle where candy is given out to children at the end of the march.
The 2012 Rag Shag Parade will be held on October 24 at 6:30 pm from Maple Street School to the Williston-Northampton Quadrangle. Rain date is October 25, 2012.
Easthampton Basketball Association
K to 12th grade from November to March. Sign up late September. Link to www.easthamptonbasketball.com for registration forms as well as player evaluation schedules.
